windowpanes string quilt from Honolulu

There are several more items from my trip to Oahu waiting to be photographed. This one is a windowpanes string quilt, c. 1960. It came from a vintage shop in Honolulu.

The quilt is 41" x 57" and the blocks are made with diagonal strips. Adjacent blocks are pieced together in alternating directions, with central blue strips framing the windowpane design.

It has lots of great conversation prints, some Asian; but most of the prints do not look Hawaiian. The absence of batting is in keeping with most of the tropical patchwork bedcovers I have found.
